The InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is the fourth resort in the portfolio of InterContinental French Polynesia resorts. Opened in May 2006, the resort lies on a virgin beach on the Motu Piti Aau (meaning “two hearts” in Tahitian) along the eastern side of Bora Bora and is accessible only by boat. The resort features 80 overwater bungalows and two beachside villas (perfect for traveling families). The InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa features an eco-friendly air-conditioning system, deploying a 7,874 foot pipe (the deepest ocean pipe in the world) to a depth of 3,000 feet off the reef of Bora Bora.
